Pour chaque projet, je cherche moins à imposer une écriture qu'à construire une réponse juste, ancrée dans un contexte : un lieu, une marque, des usages et des personnes.

This temporary residence houses families whose child is being treated at the hospitals in Gennevilliers. In a context often marked by fear, exhaustion and uncertainty, La Parent(hèse) — French for "Parenthesis" — offers a place to rest and stay nearby. Designed around parents' well-being, the residence lets them support their child through this ordeal without losing sight of their own needs.
The project responds to the in-between state parents find themselves in through an "architecture of suturing": a continuous path links spaces of varying materials and atmospheres, from more private to more communal, so that each person can rest at their own pace, moving freely between retreat and togetherness.
This continuity plays out on two levels. Architecturally, the path runs in a straight line through the spaces, making the layout intuitive to navigate. Decoratively, a recurring motif runs through the balustrades, screens and acoustic ceilings, tying the spaces together visually.
The project includes:
- 10 double bedrooms with private bathrooms, two of which can sleep a third person
- 4 living rooms and 2 kitchens, each offering a different degree of privacy
- 2 circulation routes, so residents can choose whether or not to cross paths with others
- 1 coworking space open to both residents and the public, fostering interaction and a sense of connection to everyday life
